A Chilean sensei with over 30 years of practice, study, and teaching of traditional Japanese martial arts. He has an international background, extensive training under high-ranking senseis, and decades of experience training practitioners of all ages.
He has lived in Medellín for two decades, where he has contributed to the development of the local martial arts community. He has trained in Japan, the U.S., and Latin America under some of the world’s most renowned senseis. His teaching combines impeccable technique, discipline, and a profound philosophy of personal growth.
Rodrigo views martial arts as a path to holistic growth, where technique, discipline, the mind, and emotions are refined in harmony. His teaching combines technical rigor, respect for tradition, and a human-centered approach that prioritizes the practitioner’s well-being.
Founding Teachers
In Aikido, Kurata Katsutoshi, 8th-dan
An 8th-dan Aikido master and Aikikai Shihan, he was a pioneer and leading figure in this discipline in Argentina. He arrived from Japan in 1967 and founded the Argentine Aikikai Federation and the Kurata Dojo, leaving a significant legacy through his direct instruction under the guidance of Ueshiba Sensei and his son.
